Our Galway Top is sourced via the Galway Sheep Breeders Association. Galway sheep produce a creamy white fleece that takes dye very well.

Each bag contains 100g of wool.

About the breed

Galway Sheep are a rare breed, with fewer than 2,000 breeding ewes worldwide. Native to Ireland, they can also be found in other parts of the UK. They are a large-polled white-faced sheep. They are farmed primarily for meat. They are similar to a breed known for many years as the Roscommon. The Galway breed was established in 1923 when the Roscommon breed society was in decline.
